About the Journal

Media and Communication Currents is a journal devoted to intellectual thinking, based on historical, epistemological, methodological, theoretical and technical/policy discourses and expositions on any aspect of media and communication. Therefore, research and discussions that help to understand better, or reconceptualise the understanding of media or communication, popular culture and cinema, public relations, and advertising studies, social communication, new media, language uses in the media, communication and cultural policies, social and national identities, gender studies, sports and leisure, tourism and heritage, among other related issues and other social contexts are its area of interests. Given the link between history, epistemology, methodology, theory, and research, we are open to submissions of papers if it demonstrates a clear endorsement of Communication and media. We are also committed to the ideas of trans- /interdisciplinary and welcome topics that are relevant for more than one special discipline of social sciences, humanities, and arts. Articles published in Media and Communication Currents should attempt to highlight the diversity that cocoons study of communication and related disciplines, irrespective of the philosophical paradigm. The first edition of the journal was published in June 2017.

Review Policy

All original articles in Media and Communication Currents have undergone peer review, based on preliminary editorial screening and blind refereeing by anonymous reviewers. All corresponding authors receive the results of reviewers.

Call for Papers

Articles, Paper, research notes and book reviews are invited for publication in the Media and Communication Currents, a journal devoted to intellectual thinking based on historical, epistemological, methodological, theoretical and technical/policy discourses and expositions on any aspect of media and communication.

All paper/articles, research notes reports book reviews submitted for publication in Media and Communication Currents should conform to the following:

  1. Be submitted in MS word, 12 point Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing
  2. Article should have a cover page, bearing the title, name of author(s), affiliation or address, email and phone number
  3. The article/paper should have an abstract of not more than 250 words after the title
  4. Articles/papers should not be more than 7,000 words
  5. Author(s) should use APA referencing (latest) style
  6. Articles submitted for publication would be subject to blind assessment by scholars for quality
  7. Contributors are entitled to a copy of the published journal.

Articles are submitted to Media and Communication Currents on the understanding that they have not been sent for consideration elsewhere. All decisions on articles/papers submitted for publication will be communicated within three weeks from the date of receipt of article/paper.
