Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The editor invites original articles, letters and reviews in the cultural arts, history, religion, literature, language philosophy and other fields of human endeavour.

Manuscript should be submitted in soft and hard copies as word-processed documents and referencing should follow the current APA style, double spaced. The first page of the manuscript should contain the name, affiliation and address of each author. Remember to add your email and phone number. An abstract in English (100-150 words and 4 – 6 keywords) should also be part of the first page. The abstract should be written thoughtfully and may be made to include all or a selection from the moves: background information, purpose, methodology, results and conclusion. It should be in a single line spacing and 11 points for the font size. The entire paper should be in Times News Roman, 1.5 lines spacing, and the font size should be It should not exceed 5,000 words.

Contributions should be properly vetted before they are submitted to the journal. Contributions in other languages (apart from English) are welcome. Authors should avoid mixing conventions (e.g. American or British) in the spelling of words. Adopt British spelling only.

Footnote should be avoided, but where indispensable they should be presented as endnotes at the end of the article.

Contribution should attract an assessment fee of N 7,000: 00 and a further N20, 000:00 payable upon acceptance of the material for publication. Contributions from outside attract USD 50 and USD 250 for assessment and publication respectively. All payments from outside the university, but within Nigeria, are to be made through bank transfer, while oversee contributors will be advised by the editor on the modality of payment.
