Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced on A4-size paper, single-sided and with one-and-a-half-inch margin on all sides; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submissions may be in the form of full-length articles, (not exceeding 20 pages), research notes, reports or book and paper reviews (not exceeding 8 pages). Authors should submit the original and two other copies of each manuscript, typed double-spaced on A4-size paper, single-sided and with one-and-a-half-inch margin on all sides. Each article must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 200 words and a list of not more than five keywords.

The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) should not appear in the main text, but on a separate cover page only. Authors will be notified of the receipt of their submissions within 48 hours (via email) and later through regular mail. Acceptance, rejection or the need for a revision of a submission will be communicated in the shortest possible time. Papers are accepted with the understanding that they are neither being simultaneously considered for publication nor published or accepted for publication elsewhere.

Notes and References

Authors should use endnotes and not footnotes, except where professional practice in a specific discipline dictates otherwise. Annals has adopted the Harvard referencing style. References should be listed at the end of the contribution - after the endnotes (if any).

Reference Style

Citations in the text should indicate author’s name and date of publication, e.g.:

  1. Howard and Okafor (1983) reported ………
  2. …… as was recently reported (Howard and Okafor, 1983).
  3. ……"should be upheld”, as was recently reported (Howard and Okafor, 1983:100).
